A restaurant owner asked me to create a cartoon portrait for his business cards. The character went on to appear across the restaurant’s printed materials and signage.
A personal character for the business
The brief began with a portrait: a recognisable sketch of the restaurant owner that could be used on his business cards. The drawing became a mascot connecting the restaurant’s identity with the person behind it.
From business cards to the restaurant
The character is now used on restaurant leaflets, the shop sign, placemats and other applications. The three images below show versions of the illustrated character created for this commission.
